Join Us for the 2013 Heritage Celebration

Melfa, VA –Looking for something to do on a cold February weekend without having to drive far? The Eastern Shore Community College Foundation will host the 12th Annual Eastern Shore Heritage Celebration Saturday, February 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The day’s activities will include interesting lectures and live music performances provided the ESO Arts Center. Local area artists and craftsmen will demonstrate their skill and many will have items available for sale. The college student photography club, SNAP, will have a photography exhibit and there will be food available for sale.  
 
New to the Heritage Celebration this year! We are inviting writers from all literary genres (poetry, fiction and nonfiction) to read their work at the Open Mic Reading to be held Saturday, February 23, from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in Room A-46. Come in early to sign up for your 3-minute slot.

Also appearing at the Celebration this year will be Caroline Adams, the 2013 American Honey Queen. She is visiting the shore as a guest of the Beekeepers Guild of the Eastern Shore. She will speak to attendees about the importance of honeybees to Virginia agriculture and how honeybees are worth billions in pollination. She will also share information about the many uses for honey, including the powerful property of versatility.
