Academic Dean

The Academic Dean position at Eastern Shore Community College provides sound operational management and strong academic leadership for instructional programs grouped within the academic division.

The Academic Dean will work with the Vice President for Academic, Student Success, and Workforce Programs, to provide college-wide leadership role for instructional programs, to achieve appropriate consistency, currency, and excellence in academic programming and delivery of instruction. The Academic Dean works collaboratively with others in the college community to strengthen the quality of the teaching and learning environment to foster the development of the whole student.

The Academic Dean reports to the Vice President for Academic, Student Success, and Workforce Programs; serves as a member of the campus administrative staff, President’s Cabinet, and Curriculum and Instruction Committee; and works collaboratively with other members of the college community to advance the college in accord with its vision, mission, core values, and strategic goals.

WDS Generalist

The WDS Information Generalist will play a pivotal role in attracting, evaluating and admitting prospective Workforce students to ESCC. This position will be responsible for guiding learners through the registration process, providing accurate information about programs and ensuring that registration procedures are followed efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and a commitment to promoting access to higher education. The person hired will be responsible for maintaining the overall Workforce Student Registration system, as well as working with the Director Workforce Development on the procurement of items and services necessary for the proper operation of the ESCC Workforce Development program. This will include serving as the College’s primary point of contact for the VCCS WES(Workforce Enrollment System) database; ensuring all Workforce student applications are complete and evaluated in accordance with VCCS policy; maintaining student files in a coherent and confidential manner; work with the Director Workforce Development in assessing student eligibility for and awarding Workforce financial assistance; work with Workforce Coaches in the recruitment, registration and support of Workforce students; provide support as necessary to the Student Services staff; work with the Director in the administration of Workforce grants; be responsible for purchasing items through the State procurement system (eVA); and other related duties as assigned by the Director. This is an on-campus position.

Welding Adjunct

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. All faculty members must be skilled in oral and written communications and must be able to work cooperatively with other staff members.
